Morgan Muscarello grew up in Metairie, Louisiana and decided to attend the University of Louisiana at Lafayette because it was a good distance away from home, but not too far.
She said, “When I toured UL Lafayette, I thought the campus was beautiful and could envision myself spending the next few years being a student here.”
She decided to major in hospitality management because she enjoys the different experiences the field allows her to have.
“There are many different job opportunities in the hospitality industry, but at the core, they are all the same: creating memorable and enjoyable moments for people and I love being a part of that.”
Morgan is a part of two hospitality organizations, the Ragin’ Hospitality Association and Eta Sigma Delta Hospitality Honor Society (ESD), where she is the president.
She said, “In ESD, we plan speaker series where all are welcome to attend to learn from professionals experience in our industry.”
Her favorite classes are Principles of Tourism taught by Professor Bowles, Food Service Management taught by Professor Dubois, and Food Tourism taught by Dr. Cahyanto.
“My favorite part about the hospitality management program at UL Lafayette is the people that are in it. All of the instructors are incredible and have taught me so much. They genuinely care about the success of their students and always make students their first priority.”
Morgan has enjoyed her education journey at UL Lafayette.
“My favorite part about studying at UL Lafayette is the opportunities it has given me to further my academic career. I was able to study abroad in Italy with the hospitality management program and this allowed me to learn about hospitality and tourism on an international level,” she said.
Morgan is currently a front desk representative at the Double Tree by Hilton Hotel. She wants to utilize food and tourism to create an experience for tourists.
When asked about her preparedness for after graduation she said, “I think all of the knowledge I have learned from my classes will help me to succeed in my career. I think with anything you do in life it is important to have a strong foundation. The education I have received from UL Lafayette has given me that, and I feel confident that, because of this, I will find success in my career.
“I plan on utilizing my degree by becoming a flight attendant after graduation. By studying hospitality, I have learned so much about travel and tourism and this will help me to succeed in my career.”
