UL Lafayette Announces Closure for Isaac

The University of Louisiana at Lafayette will close at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 28, due to the forecast of Tropical Storm Isaac.

Classes scheduled to begin at 2 p.m. or later tomorrow are canceled. For Wednesday, Aug. 29, the university will be closed and all classes are canceled. The university is scheduled to reopen on Thursday, Aug. 30, and classes will resume.

UL Lafayette is prepared for all students who live on campus to shelter in place at the university. Any residence hall student needing assistance should contact the Housing Department.

All essential university personnel should contact their immediate supervisors.

Students and employees should continue to monitor university messages for updates. Information will be provided via the 24-hour hotline at (337) 482-2222, local media, the Emergency Notification System, the university’s website at louisiana.edu, and its official Facebook page at facebook.com/officialullafayette.
