The University of Louisiana at Lafayette’s Performing Arts Department is set to present its fall production of a Greek comedy by Aristophanes called “Birds Meet Godot.”
The play has been adapted and directed by the Performing Arts Department Head Neil Vanderpool and the new acting/voice faculty member Allison Hetzel. The play is prepared for a contemporary audience that is appropriate for youths and families.
Vanderpool and Hetzel used their backgrounds in dance, movement, theater and voice along with the elaborate creative costuming by Gayle Stancel and set design by David Apple to bring the students, department and the audience to new heights.
The performances will be showing in Burke Hall Theater and it’s dramatically colorful costuming will truly enhance the ensemble nature of the vocal and movement work of these actors as they create delightful characters that dance and sing.
